Staying Sane

Life moves fast, and for a mother, the demands never seem to slow down. From the moment her feet touch the floor in the morning, she is needed. A small voice calls out, tiny hands reach for her, and before she can even take a breath, she is already giving. Giving of her time, her energy, her love, her very self. A mother’s life is an endless stream of moments that no one sees—sleepless nights, whispered tefillos, hidden tears, and sacrifices that go unrecognized. But Hashem sees. He sees it all.

Every dish washed, every meal prepared, every bedtime story whispered with love, every tear wiped from a little cheek—none of it is lost. None of it is small. None of it is forgotten. In the heavens, each moment of motherhood is recorded with brilliance, shining brighter than the greatest achievements in the world. Because what a mother does is not ordinary—it is holy.

There are days when exhaustion feels like an ocean, days when the weight of responsibility presses so heavily that you wonder how you will find the strength to keep going. But dear mother, do you know who you are? You are the foundation of generations. You are the heartbeat of your home. You are the place where your children find love, comfort, and warmth. You are irreplaceable.

A mother is not just the one who dresses, feeds, and cleans up after her children. She is the one who builds their souls, who gives them the strength to face the world, who teaches them what it means to love and to be loved. A mother’s words shape a child’s confidence, her embrace is their security, her tefillos are their greatest protection. What she does, day in and day out, is the work of eternity.

And yet, it is so easy to forget. It is so easy to feel invisible, to wonder if what you are doing even matters. It is so easy to look at the endless laundry, the dishes piled high, the tantrums and sleepless nights, and think: Is this really my purpose? But look deeper. Look beyond the mess, beyond the noise. In every small act of giving, you are shaping the future. In every unseen moment, you are creating something eternal.

Hashem does not measure greatness by what the world sees. He measures it by what is done with love, with sacrifice, with devotion. And by that measure, dear mother, you are greater than you could ever imagine.

So take a deep breath. Know that you are enough. Know that your efforts are not in vain. Know that every little thing you do is building something beyond what the eye can see. And know that Hashem is right beside you, holding you up when you feel weak, whispering to you that you are doing something incredible.

Thank you to all the mothers who give so much of themselves every single day. Your sacrifices, your love, your dedication—they are not unnoticed. May Hashem bless you with strength, joy, and endless nachas from your children. You are building eternity, one small act at a time.
