Question: I have a statue in my home in the shape of a bear. Am I allowed to keep it as it is, or do I need to damage part of its face?

Answer: You’re allowed to keep statues of animals, even if they are whole and complete. The prohibition applies specifically to full human figures, which must have a part removed to avoid the issue of appearing as an idol. In the case of an animal figure, such as a bear, there’s no need to alter or damage it.
