Question: Sometimes I am unable to pray with a minyan. Is there any benefit in praying alone in a synagogue?
Answer: Yes, even if a person is praying alone, it is preferable to do so in a synagogue. As Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim 90:9) states: "If one was unable to pray at the time the congregation prayed and must pray alone, he should still pray in the synagogue." This is because a synagogue has inherent sanctity, and prayers recited there are more readily accepted (Mishnah Berurah 90:28).
